Privacy & cookies
How this site handles information.
Effective October 10, 2026. This notice describes the current US Crier website. Public reading does not require an account. The operator and contact information are listed below. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to the privacy address; include only the information needed to explain the request.
When you visit, our hosting and traffic-delivery providers process connection information such as IP address, requested URL, browser information and request time to deliver and protect the site. Cloudflare provides traffic delivery and security. Infrastructure and security logs are separate from advertising or audience analytics; we do not claim that browsing leaves no technical records.
The site currently loads no Google advertising code or audience-analytics scripts. A theme preference may be stored in browser storage; where storage is unavailable it may be carried in navigation links. Newsroom sign-in uses an essential HTTP-only session cookie. Administrative actions are audited and security rate limiting uses temporary connection-derived identifiers.
If you email us, we receive your address, message and any attachments you send. Our published contact uses Gmail, so Google processes email as the email-service provider. We use correspondence to handle the inquiry, corrections or privacy request. Do not send credentials or sensitive documents you do not want handled by email.
Optional aggregate page counting, if enabled, records a UTC day, public path and request count rather than visitor identifiers. It is not a count of verified people. It honors Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control in that optional measurement feature. These signals do not prevent essential hosting and security processing.
Our protected application security-event archive has a 90-day retention policy. Hosting-provider and correspondence records follow separate arrangements; we do not claim a single verified deletion schedule across those systems. Editorial revisions are kept as part of the publication record. Privacy requests are assessed against the information we actually hold and applicable obligations; we do not promise deletion of records we cannot identify or must retain.
Advertising is currently disabled. If Google AdSense is enabled later, Google and other participating advertising vendors may use cookies to choose ads using previous visits to this and other sites. Google advertising cookies can support personalized advertising across participating sites. The Google advertising and privacy links below explain these practices and available choices.
You can manage Google personalized-ad choices through My Ad Center, and eligible third-party advertising choices through the industry opt-out service linked below. These options are separate from deleting cookies or disabling site storage. Where required, an appropriate consent interface must be in place before advertising technologies operate; the current essential-only dialog is not an advertising consent platform.
External source links take you to other organizations whose privacy practices apply there. Material changes to this notice will be reflected by an updated effective date. Contact us for access, correction or deletion requests concerning information you have supplied; do not include identity documents unless a proportionate verification step is agreed.
